The National Regulatory System for Community Housing is a key reform of the community housing sector.

The NRSCH is designed to provide a level playing field for community housing providers seeking to enter new jurisdictions and to avoid unnecessary restrictions on new entrants. Housing providers that operate in multiple states and territories will no longer have to be registered separately in each state and territory.

The new system also has implications for financiers and investors considering the funding of new community housing.

The community housing sector and the finance industry were consulted at crucial stages of development of the new system and the Community Housing Federation of Australia (CHFA) is supporting providers through the registration process.
