Role of Registrars

Each state and territory participating in NRSCH has a Registrar or appoints a Registrar from another jurisdiction to apply the National Law and regulate providers within their jurisdiction.

The role of each Registrar includes:

  • maintain the National Register for community housing providers
  • assess and registering community housing providers
  • monitor registered providers’ compliance with the National Law
  • intervene when registered providers do not comply with the National Law and taking appropriate enforcement action, and
  • cancel the registration of a non-compliant provider where necessary.
